CARROLL STURM
Carroll is a guy who joined me at Washington. To this day, he is the only guy who I've personally known, who had the name Carroll.
I never had much contact with Carroll. I know I had him in senior year, in Mr. Hensel's college prep English class. However, I don't think Carroll ever had any plans to attend college.
It was easy to tell that Carroll hated his name. He was constantly telling people it was pronounced "Carl." But let's be honest. It was pronounced like "Carol." And he knew it. But still, I can understand not wanting to be called by a girl's name.
After high school, I believe Carroll went into the army. Beyond that, I don't know much else. For a time, he lived in Watertown. And eventually he got married to a woman named Teresa. It looks like they currently reside in Sherman, Texas.

Carroll "Archie Bunker" O'Connor was a cool guy. Wonder if kids made fun of him as a child.
I knew of him via his younger brother Jon. The Sturmms were notorious at St. Lukes. After church, there was a coffee and doughnuts session, paid for (though usually not) by donations. It was my sole bright spot on church days. Bill Short (Tina's dad) delivered the supplies from Red Owl, where he worked. Basck to the Sturmms. Every sunday, some family volunteered to host, hand out the doughnuts, make the coffee, etc. The Sturmms always reserved themselves a very large portion of the baked goods as "payment" for their volunteer service. Needless to say, Coffee and doughnuts time didn't last long after that, as the profitability of the endeavor dropped though the floor.
It sounds to me, you may just be jealous of Carroll. You are probably someone who was very pathetic growing up around him, so now you think trying to make fun of his name will make you a big man. And you really need to find out your facts about people before you start posting stuff about them. Here is the pronunciation of Carroll. This is his wife Teresa Sturm. We never lived in Watertown, that is where his sister and her husband lives. So whoever you are you need to get your facts before blogging stuff you don't know. Carroll is a very hard worker and has been going to college. You don't seem to know as much about him as you would like to think.
I wasn't making fun of his name by any means. I had no problem with Carroll - none whatsoever. He was always nice enough to me.
As for Watertown, I stand corrected. Thanks for the proper information.
nwalk comments are outrageous and false. we were allowed 1 dounut a piece and my parents also made a donation plus working behind the counter and cleaning up the hall after the last person left.
A little history about Carroll. He was on the chess team, played football, basketball freshman year and turned out to be a little under weight for football and not very good at basketball.
Carroll was able to graduate in December of 1988 but was not allowed by the principal. He instead attended college at NWTC in Cleveland in the afternoon and High School in the morning. more later...
Now was it the principal, or the vice principal? That to me sounds like something the vice principal would do.
The one class I had Carroll in was during senior year. And yes, it was in the morning - 2nd hour.
Why didn't Caroll graduate? He was pretty smart, if I remember.
The VP of our school at the time would definately have denied graduation to anyone simply for his own entertainment.
He graduated with us. He just didn't graduate in December.
Oh, he could've graduate in 1988! See, I was right -- he was smart.
On a summer night back in 87' or 88' I was hanging out with several people out in front of Evans. One of them was ths girl Tory who was from Manty. We were always up to no good back then and usually drinking. I rememer that one of us guys dared Tory she should go fuck with this guy who was approaching from 17th street. She took the challenge like we knew she would.Tory walked over by him and attacked him instantly. She punched him right in the face. HEY CARROLL!!! You got beat up by a chick. HA HA
I do not pride myself as being a woman beater as grammer_cop does. If the situation happen like the drunk said, I got struck in the face by a girl, so I am more of a man not to strike back. I never remember having this happen to me ever. How good could a memory be if it was drunk?
The sturm family donates alot of money to the church and are not gready people at all. You missed it on this guy.
Carroll is proboly why i went to college after High school. Proboly the only reason im still alive.
He is a all around good person.
Burt when this came out did you get run out of town?
Not at all Randy. Most have enjoyed it immensely. I didn't miss the boat on Carrol. I didn't leave those "greedy" comments. They were left by someone else.
