BENEFIT FOR ANDREA BURNS - CLASS OF 1990

Back in June, I received a photo of class of 1990's Andrea Burns. Andrea had made a visit to this blog before, leaving a comment for her dad, Mr. Burns. The photo of Andrea is below. Below that one is a second one I received today.

This morning I received an E-mail from Andrea's siter - class of 1994's Maria. It's self explanatory. Please read.

I am sending this to you at the request of my sister, Andrea Burns, with the hopes of you posting it on your http://classof1989.blogspot.com/ page. Just a FYI....she is a class of 1990 graduate from Washington High in TR.
Thank you.

Dear family and friends,

I am writing to all of you on behalf of a benefit that is being held for my sister, Andrea.

First a little background about her:
She has been battling metastatic malignant melanoma since 2003 with a remission until spring of 2006, which then was found in her right lung. She has since underwent surgery and completed a trial treatment of chemotherapy and radiation out in Bethesda, Maryland back in December of 2006. For 6 months the tumor, that the medical team was unable to remove, did not show any signs of growth or a decrease in size. It was then this past July she developed a chronic cough, which we now know is fluid build up around her right lung and two more areas were found that are also believed to be melanoma. After she returned home from that visit she received a phone call from the medical team out at the NIH in Bethesda stating that she does not qualify for the clinical trial she was part of or any other trials that they are researching.

So with that information, I contacted Jayme at Stock's Harley Davidson of Manitowoc for aid in organizing a benefit that will help with the expenses of past, present, and future medical bills.

The details are as follows:
Date: Saturday September 29, 2007
Place: Iron Buffalo Saloon in Menchalville, Wisconsin
www.ironbuffalosaloon.com
Time: 3:30-7:30

There will be food, raffles, a silent auction, and music by The Happy Schnapps Combo
my.execpc.com/~sjkrautk/schnapps.html

If anyone is interested in contributing with a donation and/or volunteering at the benefit for various duties, please contact me. (See below).

Final note:
In the mist of this devastating news, Andrea is not giving up her fight. We are currently in contact with other physicians and medical teams throughout the United States.

Please help support and also pass the word on about this benefit that will be helping such a deserving person in her fight.

Thank you!

Healing vibes sent out to you Andrea. I work in the medical community here in St. Louis. Will keep eyes and ears open for contacts. Thinking of you.

Also, the HSC has healing powers of their own! May find some hashers from Big Hump STL Hash House Harriers at the party!

Doesn't Andrea looks sexy in pearls.....(little softballs around the neckline)Please who ever reads this join to help in her honor. I will be bringing my softball glove (not my original but a second/shitty substitute), and if anyone wants to throw that ball around....hopefully (with little/lot of encouragement) with Andrea..Maybe we could meet for a Sunday/hangover game somewhere in TR...How fun would that be!
I am "throwing" the idea out there... if you see me contact me and lets work together....GUYS...if you are not too scared to be humbled....feel free to join us! This is not a for sure thing...I need to have enough people involved, willing to bring food/drink and good spirit to share.
Cheers...Paula
